Nina Burns (Alford)

Nina Alford, 77, of Thomas Hill Rd., Fombell, formerly of Ellport, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence.

Born May 21, 1935, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Walter Coston and Cora Ruth Hazen Burns. She was married on September 13, 1962, to Manford Alford, who passed away January 11, 2001.

Nina worked at Aetna Standard for 30 years. She was a member of the Lillyville Church of God. She graduated from Lincoln High School and was a former member of the Wurtemburg Perry Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Ted) Kelosky of Fombell; two brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Burns and Walter (Vonda) Burns, both of Perry Twp.; brother-in-law, George Durbin of Ellwood City, and two grandchildren, Brittney and Mason Kelosky.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Ruth Durbin, in 2006.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Dennis Arndt, officiating.

Interment will follow in Kahletown Cemetery in Sigel, PA.
