Lee Edward Hall June 30, 1935 July 25, 2013 Lee Edward Hall, 78, of State College, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2013, in his home surrounded by his family. Born June 30, 1935, in Fombell, he was the son of the late Norman E. and Agnes Marburger Hall. On Sept. 6, 1958, he married Edith Frederick Hall who preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 1998. On Oct. 13, 2001, he married Marjorie Neff Hall, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah Hall Hyde and her husband, Richard, of McKeesport and Gail Hall Booker and her husband, Ronnie, of Arvonia, Va.; two step-children, Pamela Bennett -Baker and her husband, James, of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Brian Bennett and his wife, Amy, of Bellefonte; three sisters, Myrna Swick, of Roseville, Calif., Nadene Brown and her husband, Richard, of Tucson, Ariz. and Rita Richards, of Zelienople; two brothers, Lloyd Hall and his wife, Ethel Mae and Thomas Hall and his wife, Patty, all of Fombell; one granddaughter, Dana Hyde; and four stepgrandchildren, Alexander and Carlen Baker and Eric and Meghan Bennett. In addition to his first wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Sumner and Lila Hall. He served in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division and the Airborne Division and the 34th Infantry Scout Dog Platoon during the Korean Conflict. Lee then returned to State College to attend Penn State University, where he graduated with a B.S. and a MBA in Business Administration. After working for the U.S. Government Accountability Office and IBM, he began his career as Manager of Accounting and Contracts with the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State, where he retired after 33 years of service in 1997. Upon retiring he enjoyed his hobbies full time. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking and loved to travel. He volunteered more than 3000 hours at Mount Nittany Medical Center and was a member of the PSU Lady Lions Cager Club. He kept his mind sharp and active solving crossword puzzles daily and enjoying an occasional spin on the countries best roller coasters. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, with the Reverend Dr. G. Edwin Zeiders officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to support the Kidney Cancer Research of Dr. Michael Carducci at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, 100 N. Charles Street, Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.
