Robert P. Snyder, 79

Robert P. Snyder, Sr., 79 of First Avenue, Ellwood City passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 in the Ellwood City Hospital ER.

Born on December 18, 1935 in Ellwood City, Robert was the son of the late Floyd and Norma Baker Snyder. He is survived by his wife, the former Joann Catale whom he married on July 18, 1959. Robert retired in 1985 from B & W where he worked in the Koppel Steel Yard. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School. Robert enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He was also was a sports fan.

Besides his wife Joann Snyder at home he is survived by 2 sons, Robert P. Snyder, Jr. and his girl friend, Stacey Brown and Brad Snyder all of Ellwood City, 7 grandchildren, Amber, Brock, Troy, Josh, Courtney, Dyllan and Jake Snyder, a great grandson, Jayden Norman, a sister, Wanda Sutch of Ellwood City and a brother, Bill Snyder of New Castle.

Robert was preceded in death by a son, David Rockwell Snyder in 2011, 2 brothers, George and Fred Shannon and a sister, Betty Dennison.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

A Blessing Service will be offered at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 8 PM by Fr. Mark L. Thomas. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
