Eleanor V. (Sullivan) Wimer, age 79, of Fombell, PA, died on Monday, May 11, 2015 in Tionesta, PA, at the home of her son surrounded by her family.

She was born September 16, 1935, in Wayne Twp., Lawrence County, PA, on the family farm, daughter of the late Alfred B. Sr. and Edna P. (Baney) Sullivan Sr.

On April 25, 1953, at the Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople she married James W. Wimer, who survives. They just celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary, the married couple went together to her Senior Prom. Eleanor graduated from Ellwood City High School in 1953 and up until the time of her death she was active with her class who met monthly at a local restaurant in Ellwood City.

She was a certified floral designer and was a member of the Society of American Florists. She also enjoyed painting. Eleanor and Jim loved to travel in their motor home, most especially to Nascar races in Bristol, Charlotte and Indianapolis, visiting their daughter near Charlotte, North Carolina, their son in Tionesta, and spending winters in Seminole, Florida, with their dearest and lifelong friends. She was most happy when her children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and other relatives, came to visit. She loved to babysit her grand-dogs, Pennie and Spencer.

In addition to her husband of 62 years Jim (JW), she is survived by a son, Norman J. Wimer and his wife Patty of Tionesta, PA; a daughter, Linda W. Gilardi and her husband David of Cornelius, NC, and three grandchildren, Norman James “Jim” Wimer Jr. of Portersville, PA; Jeanie E. Cleveland and her husband Josh of Beaver Falls, PA, and Lori Townsend of Butler, PA. Great-grandchildren are Daymon Cleveland of Beaver Falls, Brittney Leadbetter and her husband Chase of Corsica, PA, and Marcus and Dajah Townsend, both of Butler, PA.

Also surviving are two brothers, James A. Sullivan and his wife Lorraine of Cornwall, NY, and William F. Sullivan of Beaver Falls, PA; two sisters, Edna Grace Funari of Ellwood City, and Donna J. Trn and her husband Edward of Beaver Falls; a sister-in-law, Mildred Sullivan of Wayne Twp., and numerous nieces and nephews of which each and every one she cherished.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George A. Sullivan, who was killed in action during naval operations in WW II; Alfred B. Sullivan Jr. and Melvin C. Sullivan, and a sister, Lydia A. McClary.

Friends will be received at the Turner Funeral Home of Ellwood City, PA, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy L. Evans, friend of the family and Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Burial Estates in Prospect, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
