Marlene J. Bartle Norton, 77 , of the Ellwood Zelienople Road, Fombell, (Franklin Twp.), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday morning, February 4 2013 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born in Ellwood City on May 31 1935, to the late Benjamin Bartle Sr. and the late Rose Fox Bartle. .

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, class of 1953, and worked at the former Romar Textiles until retiring.

Marlene was a 30 year member, and former secretary and president of the Franklin Twp. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed playing cards, and her grandchildren. Marlene is survived by her husband of 30 years, James M. Norton Sr., and by two sons and four daughters: James M. Norton Jr.; Mark R. (and Maryjo) Brown; Barbara Lopez, all of Ellwood City; Diane M. (and David) Mackrell of Portersville; Lisa (and Drew) Boots of Fombell; and Crissy( and Robert) Nadzam of Freedom PA.

Fourteen grandchildren also survive, as well as two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Minnie Regna of Ellwood City, and Arlene Jenkins of Bessemer PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Clarence, Warren, Benjamin, Willis, William, and Fred Bartle; and by four sisters: Thelma McKinney, Mary Scrima, Dorothy Favro, and Nancy McKelvey.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday, February 6 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City. A celebration of her life service will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 11:00 A.M. at TURNERS, with the the Rev. Andrew Shaffer, pastor of Camp Run Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Parish Cemetery, North Sewickley Twp.
