Shirley McDonald (D'Amico) VIEW PROFILE

Shirley J. D'Amico, 80, of Steifel Avenue in Franklin Township, passed away at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 4:22 a.m.

Born in Schwartz, PA, on November 12, 1935, Shirley was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Ethel L. Stewart McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D'Amico, on July 12, 1912. They were married on June 9, 1956. Shirley worked at Kimpel's Jewelry Store in Ellwood City and was Presbyterian by faith. Shirley was a volunteer for both the Ellwood City Relay for Life and the March of Dimes. She was also a founding member of the Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt Committee. Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School and a member of its reunion committee. Shirley also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey G. and Julie D'Amico and Terry J. D'Amico and his fiancée, Paula McClintick, both of Ellwood City; four grandchildren, Jacob and Krystal D'Amico, Joshua D'Amico, Jonathan D'Amico and his fiancée, Brittany Eidenmiller and Jillian D'Amico and her fiancé, Joshua Court, and two sisters, Margy L. McDonald of West Pittsburg and Peggy and Jim Braunbeck of Fombell.

Friends may call at the JOSEPH A. TOMON JR. FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport, on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016, in the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory at 11 a.m. with Rev. Elizabeth Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
