Carlo Paglia

Mr. Carlo Paglia, 78, of 32 Line Ave., Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 22, 2013 in the Ellwood City Hospital Emergency Room at 12:20 pm.

Mr. Paglia was born on May 20, 1934 in Ellwood City to the late Frank and Linda Paglia. He had graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953 and was an All-State football player with the high school football team. Carlo then served with the U.S. Navy from November 19, 1955 until his honorable discharge on November 19, 1956 on the USS Zelima. He had worked at Townsend Industries for 19 years, and then with Portersville Valve as a valve repairman for over 25 years. Carlo is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, and a past member of the Special Activities Group. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, walking, and going to the casinos. He also loved his dogs very much.

Mr. Paglia is survived by his wife Sandra Emery Paglia whom he married on June 25, 1960, two sons; Michael (Karen) Paglia of Willis Wharf, VI, & Scott Paglia and his fiance Christine Ierino of Ellwood City, and four grandchildren; Cody, Casey, Kelsie, & Carlo Paglia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters; Rose Rocco, Alice Konyak, Mary Frisk, & Pauline Lucas, and five brothers; Anthony Paglia, Charles Paglia, George Paglia, Nick Paglia, & Carlo Paglia in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday by 9:20 am. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Wednesday by 10:50 am to conduct full military rites.

Memroial donations in Mr. Paglia's name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
