Today a true and tender heart stopped beating.

A beautiful, intelligent woman who was loved by all those lives she touched was reunited with her husband, Arthur, and beautiful baby girl. The hole that she left in our lives is immeasurable. Mrs. Mary Ann Schlemmer, 76, of 1145 Cherry Hill Rd., North Sewickley Township, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday May 31, 2011, in her residence. Mrs. Schlemmer was born on February 13, 1935, in West Sunbury, PA, to the late Albert J. Vesceri and Catherine (Frisk) Vesceri. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Lincoln High School class of 1953. Mary Ann had worked at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill, and then was the secretary for the District Court, in New Brighton, for 20 years. Along with her husband, she enjoyed camping, and was a member of the Do-Si-Dots Square Dance Group and had won several Blue Ribbons at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and will be sadly missed by them.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Toni Schlemmer and Brendon Wahlberg, of Pittsburgh, Lee Ann (Tom) Houk, of Ellwood City, and Bobbi (Andrew Blake) Hardisky, of North Sewickley Township; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Wahlberg, Madison Hardisky, Dustin Hardisky, Hannah Wahlberg, Timothy Houk, Joseph Houk, and Mary Grace Houk, and one sister; Marie Kennard, of Ellwood City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur "Art" L. Schlemmer, whom she married on October 6, 1962 and passed away on February 8, 2011; a daughter in infancy, Mary Catherine Schlemmer; a sister in infancy, Marie Vesceri, and a brother, Joseph Vesceri.
